Candle in the Wind
Wednesday, June 10, 2009

I wish I could have a sudden gust of wind
One that can dispel this claustrophobia
The sweltering heat is too much
The wind would pummel the humidity away
Just blow away the gloom and dreariness
The fans are revolving ineffectually
Failing to cut through the stale stillness
They cannot stir the air
Nor create a gentle breeze
Nothing short of a gust of wind will do
Roaring and whistling its way in!

I want to...

I want to walk through a storm
Break every fetter and norm
I want to get drenched in the rain
And wash away the pain
I want the wind blowing on my face
While I run at my own pace
I want to wrap around the cloud
Feel free to sing out aloud
I want to inhale the scent in the breeze
Dancing with the swaying trees
I want to embrace the cold air
In awe just stand and stare
I want to be in an impossible dream
Never hear reality scream.

Music

Music is a crystal stream with tinkling ripples The sound of water lapping against the shores Sometimes it reverberates and resonates Strums the very chords of your being Is like a turbulent sea Sometimes it is gentle breeze wafting melodies Sometimes a raging storm with flashes of lightening Rumbling thunder or gentle rhythm It can be a soothing caress, a healing touch It can be an embodiment of serenity A placid blue sky Then again a singing bird Or a wandering minstrel Enchanting your thoughts and dreams It seeps within and plays inside The lilting tunes sooth your soul The lyrics invoke myriad moods Echo your emotions or memories Music submerges your being It has cosmic grandeur Or a quiet solitude Simple notes or a magnificent symphony Swaying masses or cocooning privacy Creates tranquil delight or crazy fervor Evokes nostalgia, unleashes tears Makes your spirit dance Awakens your soul or induces slumber Makes or breaks silence It is for serenading, celebrating, dedicating, meditating Connecting surpassing boundaries Transcending language and culture
Music is solace.

Shadows on the wall
Sway with the whims of light
Then I realise it is the breeze
The makes the lamp swing
Shadows elongate and spread out
They crouch and even disappear at times
They flicker and darken
They ripple and create intricate patterns
Like a filigree or a kaleidoscope
I sit and stare at them
Are they the shadows of my mind ?
